here are answers to the most frequently asked questions about my personal chef service.

How do you work?

As a personal chef, I take care of meal planning (based on your preferences), shopping, and cooking. I’m in your kitchen for about 4 hours, usually one time per week. When I’m done, your kitchen will be clean and you’ll have two entrees (4-6 portions each) and three to four sides (4-6 portions each) waiting for you. I prefer to work with families and professionals who are looking for an ongoing relationship and a personal chef to cook on a regular basis.

Can I sample your food first?

Sure. New clients often choose to book a sample session. We’ll decide a menu in advance. On the day of, I arrive, and after a brief tour of your kitchen, get cooking.

Do I need to be home when you’re cooking in my kitchen?

Not at all. I understand the trust you are placing in me by inviting me into your home. We can work out the details as to what works best for you.

My toddler is so picky. Help.

I get a big smile when my clients tell me, “My child loves your food, and he’s usually so picky.” My goal is to have the family enjoy a shared meal together.

Will we have enough for leftovers?

You may, depending on how many portions we plan for. Clients tell me they enjoy the extras for lunch the next day.

How is the menu set?

I’ll find out about your favorite dishes and cuisines, and then propose a menu for the week. I learn your palate quickly so it’s usually a quick exchange by text. I welcome client feedback and input to menu planning, but also can offer it done-for-you.

What cities do you serve?

Berkeley, Oakland, Alameda.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Vegetarian, Gluten-light, and Dairy free are no problem. Reach out via email, and I’ll let you know if I can accommodate other restrictions.

What do families love most about the service?

Enjoy your family time. Dinner is waiting for you. Arrive back home, or simply close your laptop at the end of day, knowing that dinner is all taken care of. Put up your feet, or get down on the floor with your kids and enjoy time together.

Let go of last-minute stops at the grocery store with hungry little ones in tow, or for takeout once again. Instead, say yes to fresh, healthy food prepared just for you.
